Fire and Heat Imagery in Charlotte Brontes Jane Eyre Essay -- Jane Ey

Fire and Heat Imagery in Charlotte Brontes Jane EyreThe essence of any true magnificent piece of literature is not what wholeness sack see in words. It is what one can see behind the words. It is through the symbolism and imagery found in works of literature that a subscriber can truly connect with the writer. Charlotte Bronte epitomizes the spirit of the unread but understood in her Victorian work Jane Eyre. There have been numerous essays and theories presented examining the complex symbolism and imagery used by Bronte in Jane Eyre. Much of the imagery she uses concentrates on passion, fantasy, and the supernatural. In this essay I will examine Brontes use of blaze and heat imagery pertaining to Mr. Rochester and Janes love relationship. To begin, awake imagery permeates Mr. Rochester and Jane Eyres relationship from beginning to end. Since the passionate love that Rochester and Jane first held was sinful, it was accompanied by images of combust and burning. This can possib ly be an image of hell. For example, when Rochester was trying to convince Jane to stay with him despite the fact that he was married, he described what he expected her reaction to be, I was prepared for the hot rain of tearsbut I erryour heart has been weeping business. This image of hot rain and weeping blood lends itself to an image of punishment. Similarly, when Jane showed signs of fatigue, he carried her in his arms up to her room, holding her tightly. As a result of his sinful touching, Janes senses were dulled, all was cloudy to my glazed sight. even so when he placed her in front of the acquitplace to warm up, she felt revived, I felt the reviving warmth of a fire Here the fire cleansed Jane of her stupor. It awoke her conscience to what Rochester ... ...ns, it was a just judgment on him for keeping his first marriage secret, and wanting to take another wife while he had one living. Thus, Jane and Rochester reunited and each proved to be reborn, Jane after undergoing h er own final period of personal and spiritual growth, and Rochester after facing his vices and rescinding his sinful nature. In conclusion, the concept of fire used by Charlotte Bronte in Jane Eyre cleanses, foreshadows, strengthens, and reawakens both Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester. Bronte tempered the passionate nature of her novel by continuously revealing that heated sinful emotions only travel to ruin. Both Jane and Rochester were subjected to emotional and spiritual purgatory for their immorality. They were allowed solace only after achieving spiritual rebirth. Work CitedBronte, Charlotte. In Favor of Class Size Amendment in Florida :: Argumentative Persuasive Argument Essays

In Favor of Class Size Amendment in Florida that glimpsing into a throwful of the fellowshiprooms that scatter the state should signal that we have a blatant problem with too many students. With an average of 23 students per teacher from kindergarten to ordinal grade and a staggering average of almost 28 per teacher in high schools, one might wonder exactly how any little person can obtain a comprehensive education. The correlations between classroom sizes and school grades around the state clearly depict the problem at hand from 2003 to 2004 the number of failing schools increased from 35 to a grand total of 49 schools, according to the Florida Department of Education. Although the incline of fourteen failing schools may not stupefy the masses, the ascension alone should warn officials that it is not only our students who are failing, but our current method of handling them as well. To solve this problem, in November of 2002, Floridas voters passed positive Amendment 9, which l imits class sizes in Floridas public schools. The established limits are 18 students in prekindergarten through grade three, 22 students in grades four through eight, and 25 students in grades nine through twelve. Although it may seem to be a rather straightforward problem to solve, according to Governor Jeb Bush, it is quite the opposite. Specifically, he is overly brainsick about the price-tag associated with this class-size amendment. Obviously, greatly increasing the number of classrooms statewide does not transpire with little effort or funding, but this alone does not justify Bushs intractable effort to wipe aside the idea of Floridian students being able to obtain a more comfortable and extensive education. So, why exactly should decreasing class sizes be held with utmost importance regardless of the costly efforts required to put this plan into action?

Free Catcher in the Rye Essays - Holden Runs, be He Cannot Hide :: Catcher Rye Essays

Catcher in the Rye - Holden Runs, be He Cannot Hide     While cultivation Catcher in the Rye, one can easily see that Holden has a certain romantic view about his introduction. Holden thinks in a softenicular romantic government agency about almost everyone and everything. This unusual view upon the world actually hinders Holden rather then helps him throughout the story. By his own actions Holden is harming himself, not necessarily physically. Holden has an see view of the world, is introspective, and he celebrates the freedom of his spirit.   Holden has a romantic view because he has an idealized outlook of the world. One example is when Holden lies. He knows that this is a vile trait, except he keeps on doing it. This is a part of Holdens character yet, deep in his heart he loves lying to populate. For example, when he was on the train with Mrs. Morrow, he goes way off on a wild story and has difficulty keeping with reality. Rudolf Schmidt, I to ld her. I didnt feel like giving her my whole life history. Rudolf Schmidt was the make believe of the janitor of our dorm (Salinger 54). In the future, this will hinder him because lying can catch you from behind when one least expects it. The way he thinks about people is another part of Holdens idealized view that gets in his way. Most of the time Holden is talking about how everyone is a pretender. This is a bad habit because Holden is pretty much judging the people without even actually having met them most of the time. Old buddyroos. It was nauseating. The funny part was, they probably met each other once, at some phony party (Salinger 127). This hinders him a lot because umteen of the people in this book seem like normal people yet, in Holdens eyes, they seem like the worst of the worst. Many of these people might actually have helped him. Especially in the case of Luce, Holden acted like a baby and this hurt him a lot. The last thing that Holden does, due to hi s idealized view of the world is quite strange. Holden at some random points in the book, just thinks of a crazy idea.

civil war1 :: essays papers

civil war1The following document comes from the Confederate Veteran, a magazine published throughout the South from the 1890s until the 1940s. It comes from saturation ? which contains writings from the year 1926, page 379. If there ever was a hell on Earth, Elmira Prison was that hell, plainly it was not a hot one, for the thermometer was often 40 degrees below zero. There were about six thousand Confederate prisoners, mostly from Georgia and the Carolinas. We were housed in long prison buildings, say one hundred and xx feet long and forty feet wide, three tiers of bunks against each w either. A big coal stove every thirty feet was always kept red hot but for these stoves, the most of us would have frozen. Around each stove was a chalk mark, five feet from the stove, marking the distance we should keep, so that all could be warm. We were light clad and not half of us had even one blanket. Our rations were ten ounces of bread and two ounces of meat per day. My weight fell from 18 0 to 160 in a month. We invented all kinds of traps and deadfalls to catch rats. Every day Northern ladies came in the prison, some followed by dogs or cats, which the boys would slip aside and choke to death. The ribs of a stewed dog were delicious, and a broiled rat was superb. One day I was at the guardhouse when about thirty-five of our boys had on set shirts, guards marching them around. A barreled shirt was made by knock out the school principal of a barrel then cutting a hole in the other head and putting it on the body. On these barreled shirts was written in big letters, Stole a dog, Stole a cat, Stole a ration, Stole a fur, etc. If a ladys fur was not fastened on, the boys would grab it, and some of them had been caught. All the Yankees soldiers were not cruel. The chalk marks were drawn around the stoves so that all could get some of the heat. One day a poor sick boy lay down near the chalk line and went to cessation. In his sleep he threw his leg over the chalk line . A big guard caught him by his shoulder and threw him against the wall, making his nose bleed. I popped my big fist against the guards jaw, knocking him heels over head.

My recount – Match of the Day

I checked my watch for the third time in five minutes, willing it to be iii oclock. After a ten minute wait which seemed to last hours, I headed eagerly towards the front door on a cloudless summer afternoon. This was it I was on my way to watch my first senior match at the EmiratesI twisted and turned through the winding, crowded streets of people chanting and relation glorifying the Gunners. Peering through the sea of red and white shirts, I found my friends and pretty soon, we joined the waves of supporters. Every sense in my body was tingling as I heard the optimistic songs of the passionate fans with the smell of hot dogs, chips and burgers hanging in the air. The street was a river of Arsenal shirts, with rows of policemen on the banks. We all st roll past underground station, admiring the corpse of the old scene of action along the way.At last, we curved round the final corner and arrived at the Emirates. I gazed up and gawped in awe at the monumental grey blocks ahead of me. A roar erupted inside, the match was starting soon. Breaking out of my trance, I continued following the mass of people towards the ticket barriers. As I scanned my ticket and squeezed through the narrow gates, I realized just how loud things were. Echoes of laughter floated from the canteen of excited children chatting incessantly about their predictions and of differents asking to go to the loo.I was inside the roll, but not at pitch-side yet. Everything around me was still grey, from the smooth walls of concrete to the thick grey slabs on the stairs. It was as though the stadium had not been completed like a parking lot, it had not been painted at all. However, I would soon find out why. As I trotted up the broad stairs as fast as possible among the thousands of fans also making their way up, I was caught completely off-guard when I entered the stands. The effect was phenomenal. The bright parkland grass of the pitch couple with the intense red ring of seats took my breath away. If there was ever a sight for sore eyes, this was definitely it.Inside, the stadium looked like a colossal spaceship. I was thoroughly dumbstruck, it was much better than I had imagined. Smells of delicious fast food jumbled with the smell of freshly gelded grass lingered in the air, creating a whole new sensation and slapped me in the face. The chants of the Gunners Faithful were contagious, and by the time I found my seat, I was singing along at the top of my lungs. The stadium was jam-packed with people. Spectators filled every seat available and every space to stand was taken up, yet somehow it was rather spacious. there was enough room to sit down, stand up and even stretch easily. The smooth, cold, metal handlebars in front of me were comforting to touch among the rows of strangers. In any other context, fully grown men with beer-bellies ranked along young boys, singing their hearts out would seem totally bizarre. Everything happened with such fluency, I realised that this is what happened risque after game after game.Suddenly, the players came marching orderly out of the tunnel onto the pitch. As the twelve men took up their positions on the vast stretch of undefiled grass, we all stood up spiritedly and applauded the Arsenal players. Finally, the referee counted up the men on the field and blew a familiar long, high pitched whistle. The ball rolled from Thierry Henry to Robin van Persie the long awaited match had begunWhat we all wanted to see now was a thrilling, perfect volley an immaculate flow or just feel that moment when an entire stand holds its breath to witness that one thing we all understand. Some may see it as just a game. But to others, this was about heroes and tribes. Loyalty and devotion. It was their commitment and their passion. Their battle and belief. This was the beautiful game at its finest. This was football.

Why Are Teenagers Stressed?

Why Are Teenagers Stressed? BY Testators Can you trust everything you see or hump upon now-a-days? The media Is full of constant propaganda, propaganda which brainwashes the oral sexs of young people. Children as young as 3 argon already worrying about their appearances, as seen on the television shows such(prenominal) as Toddlers and Tiaras. I believe the media has a much stronger impact on teens than any other age group. Everywhere you go, there will always be that look, that celebrities have and that every young person aspires to look like.Teenage girls will go to all extents in order to achieve the medias perception of a beautiful woman, when in fact few teenagers know that what they are seeing In magazines and on billboards are non In fact real humans, but they are what fiat has created. When parents think their children are safe at home, they are wrong. Young peoples minds are being filled with poison which is in like manner known as the perfect image.Shows such as Kee ping up with the Sardinian, Toddlers and Tiaras, Americas next top model, Jersey Shore, and 16 and Pregnant, are giving teenagers the wrong idea that you must be slim, fake, very award, and covered In make-up to be considered anything near beautiful. Shows such as these are giving the Impression that you must be a specific way to be successful and/or nonorious. This already creates large numbers of very unconcealed women, as they olfactory property they are not beautiful, because they are not covered in make-up.These types of situations create sieve for teenagers as they feel they must look a genuine way to be deemed beautiful. When asked, 87% of British teenagers claimed to be unhappy with their physiques and 64% of those under 13 had already turned to tenting In order to lose weight as stated by In the Dally Mall Newspaper article. legion(predicate) teenagers are pressured by their families Into doing well in their GASES_ This makes them feel like they must do well in order t o keep their families happy. I can discourse from personal experiences when I say that I felt even more pressured because I knew that my family were expecting peachy grades from me.This creates a large amount of mark for teenagers as they feel they must do well in order to make their families proud and In order to go to university to get a good job. It is said by the mass of the elder generation that going to university means that you will have a better future as you will get a good Job, which entails a larger salary as opposed to someone who did not attend university. This is not necessarily true as people who do not attend university can still manage to get a well-paid Job. Also, family members may expect their child to do a specific profession which the child themselves does not want to do.This means that the teenager Is pushed into schools which allow the best support in he subjects which will open pathways to these careers. This can also create higher levels as stress as te enagers are being forced Into doing a subject they do not wish to do, which makes it more challenging to succeed, thus creating more stress. The teenagers which come from working class families, unfortunately, have it a lot harder than those that come from middle class or upper class families. A working class teenager may be pressured by their families to get a job as soon as possible in order to help out their spiritedness situation. This can create stress because distributing enough mime for school and work can not only be exasperating but It can also be difficult. At the case for those which come from working class families. Not only can teenagers be unhappy from working, they can also be stressed as they are being put into a situation where money is a problem and they are constantly living under the threat that certain necessities may be cut off due to an outstanding bill payment or something as extreme as being kicked out the house. ordination has a large impact on the amount of stress that a teenager has.By society I mean all things surrounding hem, media (as I previously discussed), friends, and the general public. Whether you want to admit it or not, everywhere you go, everything you do, you are always being judged, by everyone. Many people are aware of this whilst others arent. The fact that we get it on in a country where everyone is Judged by the color of their skin, the way they present themselves and by their appearances makes it a more difficult place to fully be accepted. This applies stress to young people as they feel they need to be accepted in society by becoming something that they are now.The factor which disheartens me the most is that in society you are expected to be a specific way In order to be accepted and if you are anything other than perfect, you are looked upon as morally wrong. Which leads me onto my next point, the general public (specifically the older generation) has generalized teenagers as being anti-social and rude wh en in fact only a minority of teens are actually this. By generalizing an age group based upon a few individuals can make it more challenging for the younger generation to speak their mind and have their voices heard. This also creates stress by making teenagers feel as if they are not important because of what they are depicted as. To sum up, teenagers have legion(predicate) reasons to feel like they have a build-up of stress, but I believe the two main factors are family and education as most of teenagers spend the majority of their time either in school and/or in the presence of their families. This means that they are constantly being told what to do, what to achieve and what is expected of them. Which makes life as a teen more difficult than it needs to be.

The Travels of Marco Polo

It was in 1254 when Maffeo Polo, a rich Venetian merchant, and his business partner brother Niccolo Polo were engaged in a jaunt outside Venice, Italy for trading in Constantinople and Far East. Traveling on a Silk Road was a long sail, good enough for merchants same them. However, as they planned going back home using the same route, they were trapped by the civil war between Hulagu and his opponent cousin Barka in Bukhara, and thus decide to use an eastward route although it was unfamiliar to them. There they meet an ambassador of Hulago who became an instrument of the meeting between the Polos and the great emperor as the last mentioned was excited meeting a Latin for the first time. The Polos were treated with high respect especially when the emperor learned about the Catholic faith. He displace off the Polos to go home and ask the Holy See to send 100 educators and teach caravan inns citizens become Christians. However, the death of Pope kind IV made the Polos stranded agai n tho this time in Acre, Italy, year 1269.The College of Cardinals anointing of a new Pope happened in the late 1271. manipulation gifts and letters from Pope Gregory X (Teobaldo) of Piacenza, Polo brothers sailed themselves off again, with two friars and Niccolos 17-year old son Marco Polo. Reaching the war zone, the two friars were discouraged and hesitant to continue the journey with the group. The mission that was originally tasked to supposedly 100 educators was forcedly fall solely to Marco Polo. This was the beginning of the latters meaningful journey to Asia, parts of Africa and Europe.Long after Marco Polos prompt and escapades to Asia, he was able to sum up his accounts in a give-and-take written by him with the help of his romanticist writer friend Rusticiano de Pisa. It has the full funding of Marco, accounted diligently in cardinal parts and given the title The Description of the World a.k.a. The Travels of Marco Polo..Marco Polos Travel Account on the Silk RoadMi ddle East and Central AsiaOn their iii and a half years of journey in the Silk Road, Marco had plenty of systematic observations from Middle Easters custom, religious practices, traditions, food, food preparations, history, climate, geographical, and natural resources to having a spell on civilizations, tribes and delightful Persian women, which Marco expressed in his original words as a handsome race, especially the women, who, in my opinion, are the most beautiful in the reality. The group sailed from Laias port to Armenia until they reached the Persian Gulf. From Homurz to Kerman, passing Herat, Balkh, Badakhshan, they were able to get on Pamir, a plateau between Afghanistan and Tibet, and described as the highest place on earth. They traded with Tibetan Buddhists in Campichu.China (Cathay) and Kubilai Khans courtAs planned, the group reached their destination in Kublai Khans court, which is located in Shangtu, almost 200 miles away from capital of Red China to deliver the oil as Pope Gregory Xs gift to the emperor. Marco Polo observed Kublai Khans splendid living as royalty and master with wisdom power, wealth and skill. He discovered how Chinese give importance in record-keeping, feasts and festivals, and wondrous inventions such as monetary systems using stamp, paper and timberland as money, literally running man as express messenger, fine highways, and the use of black stone or coal for fuel. He expressed his praises in his line To this city everything that is most rare and valuable in all parts of the world finds its way.East Coast Asia, Southeast Asia and AfricaThe fluency of Marco Polo in four different languages made the Polos ambassador of Khan Empire in some countries. At the same time, Kublai Khan was successfully conquered the whole of China. The Polos were allowed to go home in Venice with 600 crewmembers, which mostly did not survive believing that some were drowned, some were lost in storms, and some were died due to some malignant illnes ses. There they encountered adventurous travels as they sailed sulfur from Vietnam to Indochina. He also made beautiful accounts of the place such as Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Japan, Siberia, Ethiopia, and the coast and islands of the Indian Sea. On his accounts, he still admitted having this line, I have alone told the half of what I sawWars and the Northern RegionWhile en route, the group heard the sad news that the great Mongolian emperor and conqueror of China Kublai Khan is already dead. Afterwhich, they arrived in their homeland Venice in 1295. Soon after their arrival, Marco Polo was engaged in a war against Genoa, which happened to be the most difficult rival of Venices sea-going trading. Marco Polo was imprisoned. He started his storytelling and then put it in writing afterwards. He clearly gave emphasized his praises as he was impressed in the Chinese civilization at a lower place Mongol ruling. He concluded his book with this explanation, I believe that it was Gods pleasure that we should get back in order that people might learn about the things that the world contains. Thanks be to God Amen AmenAnalysis and ConclusionMarco Polo is not just a famous traveler and a relative of Venetian merchant during their times. He could be called anthropologists. Based on his great accounts traveling to the Silk Route or Silk Road, he made thorough information not just about the geographical route, but mostly its noteworthy and interesting details, which made his travel story a travelogue. He was able to educate his readers in his generation and even up to this modern era. His book was not just about Chinese civilization, Mongolian wars and Kublai Khans Empire although his utmost impression with it was given full attention. Furthermore, he gave focus on some facts in Asia and its people how they were differ from each other, Christianity as well as other religious belief and practices, etc. He also managed finish his document without making any biased statements.Thi s is the irony, trading as the primary goal of the Polos during their journey in the Silk Road was given sufficient justification in the book because in the end, trading serves as the main reason of the great traveler Marco Polos captivity in Genoa.R E F E R E N C ELatham, Ronald. Market Equilibration Process Essay

Market equilibration gives businesses the opportunity to mold to different changes that occur indoors the field of marketing. With market equilibration, market prices are established through product and service competition. For example, the hearts of goods or services required by customers are equivalent to the amount of goods or services produced by business. Market equilibration allow go away the business and customer to be on the same sheet of music with product and prices. equity of DemandIn order for market equilibrium to exist, the economy must have a need for a particular product or services. For thither to be a demand, customers must be prepared to pay the established prices set by the industry. After the need for a particular product has been identified, manufacturers dismiss begin producing the products. Law of SupplyWith supply, the product or services are made available to the economy. When a consumer is prepared to pay the price the market is request market equilib rium is established. Should there be an imbalance of the demand or supply, there would be no equilibrium. In cases of supply imbalance, this could get to prices to increase which would inadvertently create business and revenue for the competition. Contrary to supply shortage is an excess of supplies. Excess supplies in the market will cause the market prices to drop resulting in an imbalance in the market equilibrium. Efficient Market TheoryEfficient market theory is an investment theory that states it is impossible to beat the market because threadbare market efficiency causes existing share prices always to incorporate and reflect all relevant information (Investopedia, 2014). Because stock usually trades at fair value the efficient market theory keeps the stock exchange fair and honest. It prevents investors from selling at over inflated prices or purchasing atunderrated prices. Surplus and shortfallAnother cause of an imbalance in the market equilibrium could be a result of s upply surplus. A supply surplus could also cause product prices to drop. Because there are more products available it could mean that customers just are not buying or that there are too numerous suppliers of the same product. The counter to this problem is to limit the number of like products available within the economy. The opposite effect to a surplus could be very safe to business competitors. A shortage would allow a competitor to move the business into the local economy and set prices high. As a result of shortages, this would allow the competitors to monopolize the market causing duress to surrounding companies. Real World ExperienceA real world example of the free market is when a customer looks for a bargain for the same product that both Wal-Mart and Target offers but at different price. Most consumers prefer to choose the item that has the outmatch price versus the store name. Another factor that plays a role in the decision process is the location. If a customer has t o drive further away to compel a purchase they may elect to select the most expensive item. Customers can take advantage of supply and demand when the businesses are competing with each other. certaintyIn economics, manufactures and customers are the primary stakeholders in the equilibrating process. The market equilibrating process is difficult to balance because of the shifting market. By obtaining a good understanding of how the equilibrating process works, it will assist consumers on how to spend his or her money while saving at the same time.ReferencesMcConnell, C., Brue, S., & Flynn, S. How far was the growth of the American economy in the years 1890 to 1914 due to the rise of big business? Essay

During the period 1890 to 1914 the American economic system grew considerably due to the growth of its capacity to produce, rapid industrialisation and increased domesticated consumption. This was, to a large extent, driven by big chore.Oil was more readily available which made the transport of goods easier and encouraged development of machinery and industry. Through the lateralization of Rockefeller and large oil companies, oil was exploited to the benefit of everyone and especi all toldy the embryonic car industry. In 1913, Henry Ford, adopted the moving assembly line, which meant that cars could be produced quickly which made them more affordable and increased sales boosting the economy.Through the work of the steel magnate Carnegie, steel became more readily available due to skunk production which bear outed the development of heavy engineering and production which provided employment. JP Morgan had a leading role in reorganising American railroads which made transport o f goods easier and cheaper.Due to pitiless big business culture, smaller companies which were less profitable could not survive, but the economy benefited from streamlined monopolies due to economy of scale. This meant that prices of goods went down and this spurred on the domestic securities industry to buy more. By strictly controlling costs and increasing efficiency, big business moguls such as Vanderbilt, Rockefeller and Carnegie were particularly influential in this respect. In support of the economy banking became more stabilized due to financiers such as JP Morgan who directed the banking coalition that stopped the panic of 1907. This financial crisis almost crippled the American economy due to mass bank closures and major New York banks were on the verge of bankruptcy. The consequence of the intervention of JP Morgan was that banks were then able to provide credit to finance businesses and industry which boosted the American economy.Big business had considerable political i nfluence and exerted pressure on thegovernment and states consequently passed laws to help big business. The government even broad protection through the Supreme Court such as keeping trade unions weak via super injunctions and the 14th amendment. This enshrined the rights and privileges of the individual, which allowed the development of a laissez-faire business culture. There were however a number of instruments which supported the economy which were not directly related to big business. The development of agriculture across the Plains resulted in the stopping point of more land.Technological innovations such as barbed wire helped in this respect because land could be better protected. Innovations such as higher-yielding hybrid straw made farming much more productive and profitable this resulted in America becoming a bread basket with surplus wheat for export. excessively the development of technology such as refrigeration was important to farming and the economy. The developme nt of the refrigerated rail car allowed perishable produce to be transported all across America. However, undoubtedly big business helped to fund and channel innovation into even greater profitability. Cheap labour, resulting from immigration, was particularly important to developing the economy and overly brought additional skills to the country. As productivity increased trade with Asia created additional markets and demands for products.Indirectly advertising was another area that helped the American economy. Full page adverts in newspapers two in the USA and the rest of the world made people want products and therefore boosted sales and profits. Also the door-to-door salesman developed in this period as new products arrived fuelled demand. In conclusion big business was clearly extremely important in developing the American economy from 1890 to 1914 but many factors bear on and arguably the government creating a capitalist free market economy through the political influence of big business was a major factor in helping businesses and the economy to grow.

Are We Better Than Our Forefathers Essay

Have you ever pondered the fact that we are better than our forefathers? If you conceptualize otherwise, Ill explain why I think this way. Most people say that our forefathers lives were very peaceful. We have technology at our hands and we have made atom bombs and weapons. For destruction you might say, but thats not true because we are making these for our protection. Our forefathers lived without many modern amenities and inventions such as electricity, aero planes, microwave ovens and more, whereas we cannot even imagine life without laptops and cellular phones. yet children play with such things. The greatest drawback of the lives that our forefathers led was that of education the people were mostly uneducated and were un aware the major issues of life. Their thinking was limited to their surroundings and they were not aware or bothered about what was happening in other parts of the world. We are living an active life, whereas our forefather led simple, idle lives. We have brin g in concepts in our minds whereas the people who lived in the historical had many complex issues in their minds. Young never knew the philosophy of life and children were busy with playing games only.Today, we can occur with people in different countries within no time thanks to telephone and email.. However, in the past it would take months to send message from one body politic to another or one place to another.Today, people possess knowledge about every layer within the earth whereas our forefathers living in the past were only familiar with well water. We can even touch the skies, thanks to the major strides that have been made in the field of commutation. The sky is the limit when it comes to victimisation and progress in our age.We have overcome time and space and are covering large distances in a short span of time. While in the past people travelled on foot or in horse driven carriages now we have bullet trains and super sonic aero planes.Of course, on the whole these facts prove that we are leading better lives than our forefathers but it is a fact that the next generation will be better than us.

Ethics - Essay ExampleThis level of ethical expected value extends to a great litany of different areas and portends a in high spirits level of expectation for the individual educator. As such, the expression that will be analyzed term of faith to the study reveals the way in which rigid state and federal official standards have upholdd many struggling school districts, and individual teachers, to attempt the unethical approach of teaching to the test as a means of passing whatever requirement great power exist at the given era. Naturally, this practice in and of itself is troublesome however, when one considers it from both the standpoint of the utility that the student gains and the ethical ramifications for how the educational process takes shape, a nuanced understanding of the impact of such an approach is able to be understood. The spirit ethical issue that must be understood is the fact that the educators themselves are encouraging a level of unethical behavior that is both unfair to the educational process as well as unfair to the end student. In order to understand this unethical behavior, it is necessary to delve in to the motivating factors that encourage it take place initially. Ultimately, the educational system, as it exists today, as both state and federal standards that must be met at multiple times passim any given school course of study. As such, the overall importance of these standardized tests nominatenot be understated. Unfortunate ly, even thus far in my own professional and student development, I have seen this take place. The first time that it was evidenced to me was with regards to taking the PSATs in high school. Rather than using this opportunity to fill in the gaps of any education that the students might have missed out on, the teacher merely hurried to provide a way of what can only be described as educated guessing. The second time this practice was mention it was in an 8th grade classroom that I was observing. The teacher, although highly qualified spent the bulk of her time going through a standardized test and pointing out how to delineate the correct answer rather than teaching the material and explaining what the rationale behind it was. The third time that this took place was in my final year of high school as state standards of educational attainment from K-12 were being measured. Although the senior year of high school is normally at a slower pace than the other years, the educators cut sh ort oftentimes of the information that would otherwise have been presented as a means of focusing on the standardized test that was of more importance to the local district and the funding levels that the educators would have to divvy up than it was to the individual students. Accordingly, as the article notes, a highly unethical practice has emerged within many of the more troubled school districts throughout the nation. In addition to not spending enough time on the subject at hand, educators throughout the system have been teaching to the test instead of

Product & pricing (marketing management) Case Study

harvest-festival & pricing ( foodstuffing management) - Case Study ExampleTiVo managements, now spearheading a brand bracing sector of entertainment industry, did a lot on market development which involves marketing existing products, in this case serve wells in new markets. In some degree product development was utilise but on a limited scale. Perhaps a lot of work on investigate and development made both market development and variegation attainable. overly in the area of diversification of TiVo services, there were a few brand names to take care of contrasting sets of customers which new market strategy of Ansoffs growth model seeks to explain. More so, 0.04% penetration rate is abysmally low largely overdue to lack of awareness on the part of customers. A very good indicator, current quarterly subscribers of 14,000, postulate to be sustained while means are to be devised through appropriate marketing conduct to increase this number in the near future.Concerning product life cycle, one is of the belief that TiVo is still in its introduction stage - infancy probably heading to growth stage. A period of one yr or thereabout cannot be safely considered to be in full growth or matureness or have dominating influence on the market. The net loss increasing progressively as shown on exhibit 3 tends to suggest that management must remodel and refocus its strategies in rove to remain profitable. Frankly speaking, since the project is still in introduction stage, it will make economic hotshot if they could focus on TiVos long-term prospects. Market AttractivenessAs said earlier, TiVo has a cutting-edge engineering that can impact greatly the entertainment industry if professional inputs are sought on close policy decisions. The market is really vast but the problems TiVo has include inability to relay what it can liberty chit the public and tendency for the very marketers (including columnist) hired to promote the services end up confusing and dispellin g customers. Also the model adopted by the co-founders and management are imperfect, this reflects in pricing policy, branding and marketing techniques.TiVo is highly innovative by featuring qualities like pause, fast-forward, rewind, play and record. Conventional TV can not boost of these qualities permit alone enter in basic, medium, high and best modes. Important point about this innovative specialisation is that for TiVo to sell there is need to reach out to customers and let them understand TiVos value proposition. New Product Development ProcessNew product development process seems to be lacking or non-existent diversification, an organic component of Ansoffs Growth Matrix requires that products or services be branded (segmented) to satisfy different customers. Differentiating TiVos service from recording with different prices is one but inadequate service segmentation. Management should think of bundling different services into TiVo like gaming. A close study of customers preferences for programmes can be another big clue. soft touch PositioningFurthermore, TiVo branding has a huge price differential between the two main recording services defeating the whole essence of branding. Charging $499 for a non-white box for a 14-hour recording and $999 for the same black box and 30 hours of recording is disproportionately high. To make TiVo more attractive, more brands need to be created possibly to keep competitors at bay even when partnering with
